Well ! The miracle has happened! Brian is going to get the drug Velcade!! He is thrilled to be starting Velcade tommorrow ( Friday Jan 20th) It could extend his life, and give him a better quality of life, and let him enjoy the family and the grandchildren.
It also restores our faith in the NHS, and it may give hope to others who are fighting similar campaigns for hard to get treatment. It has been a very tense, worrying , frustrating, depressing and difficult time, but so many people have worked so hard to make this descision possible, we never gave up hope, we know so many were praying so hard, and we hope that this will encourage all those who may be going down the same path..especially the other two Myeloma patients who will also now get the Velcade ..brilliant !
To all of you out there... Those we know personally and those whom we shall never know, we just want to say Thank You!!!!! Brian and Victoria

What a week!

Can you believe the last 10 days! firstly the Daily Telegraph came and took loads of photos for the article in Mondays press, then the Soton Echo came and took loads more including some of the grandchilren.. then the papers came out and the BBC came and did a load of interviews and Brian did a piece for BBC drive time LIVE! We made BBC South Today and were so pleased with all the press as it was real quality reporting..nothing sensational.. our local paper also ran an article, a guy offered to help pay for the Velcade , a soloicitor has offfered to represent us, and our church have got up a petition, we have had so many kind comments and good contacts.. BUT.. we still havent got the Drug Velcade.. we must keep chipping away! Today the issue was raised in the Christmas debate in the House of Commons, weird hearing Brians name echoing through the Chamber.. we dont want this but we have gone too far now to back down...so Happy Christmas and as they say..we will be back!!
